Energy supply & trading
Trading and optimisation services to make the most out of energy assets

We are a fully licensed UK electricity supplier, meaning the electricity produced by P3P’s generation portfolio is sold direct through P3PES and any electricity imported for on-site usage is bought from P3PES.
We also trade the electricity generated by P3P energy assets in the wholesale market. This enables in house management of every stage of the energy asset lifecycle, from construction through to operation.

Removing the need for a third-party energy supplier and trading the assets ourselves has three key benefits.
More trading efficiency
Assets are traded more accurately since there is a direct link between the asset management and electricity trading teams. This limits imbalance costs and lost trading opportunities.
Lower costs
Costs are reduced by cutting out third-part supplier charges.
Improved customer service
Invoices are more accurate, and no time is waste by managing supply contracts or resolving the regular billing mistake made by large suppliers an analytics platform is provided for live monitoring of asset performance.
We supply and trade Combined Heat & Power sites along with Gas Peaker sites.
Combined heat & power (CHP)
Catering to the demands of the on-site customer is the primary driver of CHP operations. This requires us to communicate actively with the sites to ensure they are getting the energy they need, when they need it. After 10 years of experience, this is something that we understand, but large suppliers and aggregators do not.
To help manage our CHPs we use a proprietary optimisation algorithm to maximise the value from electricity generation whilst delivering the required heat and CO₂ at the correct times.

Gas peaking
Gas Peaking plants have fewer operational constraints than CHPs, which allows them to be managed more flexibly. We use this opportunity to capitalise on power price fluctuations by actively trading the asset in response to real-time market conditions. Our optimisation systems remove the need for manual intervention by automatically sending trading instructions to the power exchanges in response to movements in the power price, and then dispatching the plants accordingly.
