P3P secures planning permission for large scale Vertical Farm

P3P has successfully helped Perfectly Fresh to obtain planning permission for a new 5000m2 indoor Vertical Farm. The new facility will be based at P3P’s site near Selby, bordering Drax power station.

P3P have already helped Perfectly Fresh in the development of the site by building a 10MW CHP Energy Centre, which currently provides heat and CO2 to the on-site glasshouse and power to the site. The newly developed Vertical Farm will use this power to provide an economic solution to the project.

The site at Selby also has a R&D centre which focuses on new product development and optimisation of agronomic practices for indoor vertical growing. The design and build of this facility had been managed by P3P on behalf of Perfectly Fresh and is used to propel the Perfectly Fresh business forward.

The development of indoor growing at Selby is the next step in business growth for Perfectly Fresh as it already has a commercial Vertical Farm in operation in Cheshire. P3P will continue to work with its partners to develop new technologies and methods which enhance the quality of products grown within the Vertical Farm.
